He considers, and then rejects, philosophy, medicine, law, and immortal before deciding to study magic. Significantly, Faustus rejects piety because of a misunderstanding of the relationship between divine jurist and Christian mercy. Throughout the play, the union of good and evil is meant to screening the sharp contrast between the good and evil characters to his audience. This is interrogatively apparent in the characters on the Good Angel and the criminal Angel. Several times in the play, the two angels make their style to Dr.Faustus, the Good Angel attempting to bring Dr. Faustus back to Christ branch the Evil Angel convinces him to continue giving his allegiance to Hell.
